Dorothy A. Ankerstjerne December 1, 1914 - October 3, 2010 Dorothy Alice Ankerstjerne, the daughter of Andrew and Edith (DePue) Payne, was born on December 1, 1914, in Castana, Iowa. She received her early education in Onawa, IA where she graduated from Onawa High School. After high school, she attended business school in Sioux Falls, SD, for one year. On June 10, 1933, Dorothy married Walter Ankerstjerne in Onawa, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed near Onawa, then moving to Hornick, IA in 1943 and then Peterson in 1950. Dorothy was a homemaker, she loved raising her family and spending time helping on the farm. Dorothy was involved in many church and community activities, but her main hobby was her family. She was truly �Grandma Great� Dorothy passed away on October 3, 2010, at the St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Baxter and three brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Kristin Baier and her husband, Gene of Moville, IA and Gaylee Ward and her husband, Robert of Marysville, OH; one son, Craig Ankerstjerne and his wife, Janet of Independence, IA; daughter-in-law, Colleen Ankerstjerne of Peterson,IA; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. SERVICES Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 8, 2010 at the First Congregational Church in Peterson. OFFICIATING Rev.
